All the girls are brighter than me

by Tsu
(Vietnam)

1. Three people I've met, actually chatted by smartphone & internet, are 3 single girls, my friends. They are joyful, energetic. They gave good advice. I don't understand why they can still be with me, a girl having nothing to say. That made me feel like all the girls are brighter than me.
2. After being depression free, I want to be determined, more cold-hearted. My life, now I just think I should not live with my parents anymore. They really piss me off everyday. I should find a hobby. I must get a position in career before 35.
3. My depression helps me to understand myself more. I listen to my truly need inside. It makes clear my weak points: hesitating, unconfident. I have to improve it.
4. Being worthless makes me angry
5. Being denied in love makes me sad
6. Money, travelling with friends, new progress in job, new development of myself.. can bring me some joy
I'm not comfortable to express my thoughts & myself so it's not smooth to write an interesting note

My turning point
by: Tsu

I appreciated your encouraging comments so far. It’s me, 6 years after the post above. I move to a big company. I am still a staff but I got the opportunity to work in Japan for 2 years. It is not easy to live and work in a country with so many rules of manner. I think that God answered my wishes. However God also give me more challenges. Sometimes I’m too tired that I want to give up. In such exhausted time, I remember that I could survive from depression so these difficulties should not be stones in my mind anymore.

Hi Tsu

You definately do not sound like you have trouble expressing yourself. You said so much! Yes you have learned so much from your depression and you have come out on the other side of it. You have decided you must move away from your parents and live your own life. You want to rise in your choice of careers. I know both of these things will make you happier. It is not that you are not bright, just that you needed to deal with these hard life choices. Making your own choices, living on your own will bring you independence and confidence. You too will be bright and lively once again. Like you said...be true to yourself. I think you mean hard-hearted meaning you have to choose the right path for you and maybe upset your parents because they want to tell you what to do. You will always love your parents, living your own life is nothing to feel mean about. You have that right. You are not worthless, you only feel that way and maybe tell yourself so. Please use your power, your thoughts to tell yourself good things about yourself. This is time to take good care of yourself. It's alright, don't feel bad or guilty. It's your life and you deserve good things. God Bless....from Leona

Excellent post

Your post is great. It sounds to me, your depression has not been wasted. It is comforting to know you have been learning more about yourself, preparing for life changes and reaching out to others. Keep doing the hard work, find enjoyment in small things and keep from isolating yourself from people. When you are honest and forthcoming with others, you may find you may just help people on their journey living with depression and that alone may bring you some joy. You may feel girls are brighter, but your knowledge is special to you. Sounds to me you have a lot to offer Thanks for reaching out on this forum.
